ACLU Know Your Rights MICHIGAN

I attended the June 10th ACLU Know Your Rights Training call and took notes for those who could not attend.

This resource includes screenshots of the slides presented by the ACLU team, along with added context based on the verbal discussion and Q&A from the call. Big thanks to the ACLU for hosting this powerful training and responding to community questions.

The Empowerment Collective will be on the ground this weekend at the Ferndale NO KINGS protest on June 14, 2025, at 9 Mile and Woodward, in partnership with Indivisible Fighting 9. Stop by our table to pick up a civic advocacy toolkit, learn more about who we are, and grab a copy of this full presentation. We will also have additional downloadable handouts available to help you protect your rights and stay safe.

Be safe, stay empowered, and keep causing good trouble.

Pro Tip: Follow Alt National Park Service… Speaking of good trouble! :)

*I recognize that this page is only in English, which happens to be the only language I speak (Jordan). If someone is open to collaborating who does speak Spanish, I would be thrilled to join forces and be able to provide these documents in Spanish! (I just don’t trust Chatgpt to cooperate with me. It barely works with me in English…)

For now, the best advice I can give everyone is to direct yourself to ACLU Michigan’s website. All of this content comes from them anyways!
